Want a remote and peaceful camping alternative to the coast?
Exodus Property offers 9 private 4WD access only campsites and 1 communal campsite suitable for 2WDs, caravans and camper vans. All campsites are directly on the Nymboida River and unique and varying in terrain from ruggered wilderness, open plains and untouched bush camping options. If you are wanting total privacy, then the private island and remote solo campsites are for you. All campsites are classified as ‘primitive’ as they are in a wilderness area.
As all campsites are directly on the riverbanks of the Nymboida River, it is important to know that rivers and streams can rise rapidly after heavy rain in the upper catchments, so check river heights and weather reports. Exodus staff do monitor river heights and where possible will notify campers of major floods or flash floods.
Listed below are some important points you should know before camping on Exodus Property:
Camp fires – camp fires are only permitted in designated fire pits areas. River rock will explode if put in or around a fire, so do not make your own fire pit. Do not put foil, cans, glass or plastic into camp fires.
Firewood - feel free to collect your own firewood from fallen trees only. Do not cut down any trees, dead or alive. If your arriving late or would like some wood to get you started, we have wood available for $5 a crate.
Rubbish – campsites are to be left how you find them – rubbish free. Please take all rubbish with you when you leave, this includes cigarette butts and bottle tops.
Drinking water – we recommend bringing your own drinking water or buying a water steriliser from your local camping shop.
Animals – pets are welcome! Dogs must be either on a lead or in sight at all times. Dogs are not permitted to chase livestock or wildlife. Dogs that are seen or reported chasing livestock or wildlife will not be welcome back.
Toilets – all campsites are classified as ‘primitive’ campsites, so bring a portaloo or shovel. Toilet holes must be dug to a minimum of 15cm / 6” deep. Please ensure all toilet paper / sanitary products are buried.
Fishing – only catch and release fishing is permitted and you must have a fishing license to fish. Fishing tours can be booked with our fishing guides who are experienced and knowedgeable of the area and know the perfect spots to catch bass, haring, and catfish. No spear fishing permitted.
Motor bikes - no motor bikes or buggies are permitted on the property.
Gates – gates must be left the way you find them! Please do not leave gates open for your mate as they may not know if it should be open, shut or locked. You open it, you shut/lock it.
Exploring – feel free to explore the property in your 4WD but only drive on designated tracks. If you want to see something off the beaten track this can be done on foot. All tracks are used for access, activities and other campers, so if wet take due care not to excessively churn up roads by deliberate skidding, doing donuts or driving erratically. Exodus Property is not a 4WD park.
The speed limit for driving around the property is 10km. We ask that all vehicles adhere to this speed limit and drive with care at all times.
Be aware that all campsites are private so when exploring along the river banks be respectful and mindful of other campers.
Weapons - no weapons permitted on the property.
Emergencies – there is no mobile reception on the Nymboida River as it is a wilderness area. It is recommended that you pack a satellite mobile phone and first aid kit for emergencies.
The nearest place you will get mobile reception is on the top to the Buccarumbi range at Doboy Road.
